YLMP is: "More brilliant live classical and jazz music for more people in more places - be curious and be inspired !"

We make it easy and fun to listen to live music performed by top national and international professional musicians.

We are family friendly and most of our events take place during the weekend day-time so they are easy to reach for busy parents and young people.

We use a wide mix of venues throughout Yorkshire, from the region's major international art and sculpture destinations to village halls, bringing our inspiring and unique live music experience close to home.

Our events are relaxed and informal and we aim to ensure programmes and artists relate to the needs and expectations of young audiences today.

Our unique Gigs for Kids scheme means under 18's gain free admission to all our events with their accompanying adult just half price.

We use a wide mix of venues to enable easy access and bring top quality music to as many areas of Yorkshire as possible.

Plus…

Because we take brilliant live music to all sorts of places, our "Hot Spot" series could be happening at a venue near you.

And…

Because we are right behind some of the best young professional musicians we have a Featured Artist Scheme. Our 2011/12 Featured Artists are the Ligeti String Quartet. Find out more about them on our Featured Artists page

Yorkshire sign post

YLMP is a collaborative organisation working with public and privately funded live music agencies, community organisations and educational establishments to enable a diversity of live music opportunities for performers and audiences alike.

"There are these rare moments when musicians together touch something…

This is when they give us a glimpse of what we might be, of our best selves, and of an impossible world in which you give everything you have to others, but lose nothing of yourself."

- From the novel 'Saturday' by Ian McEwan
